About IPv6
With the rapid development of internet technology and the AI technology industry, the demand of internet users towards IPv4 addresses is getting bigger and bigger. At the same time, IPv4 addresses are running out due to excessive demand.
To solve the shortage of IPv4 addresses in market, the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has designed IPv6 to replace the IPv4 IP protocol. The length of the IPv4 address is 32 bits, while the length of the IPv6 address is 128 bits, which is four times the length of the IPv4 address. Therefore, the emergence and use of IPv6 will greatly increase network addresses. The Internet Assigned Numbers Agency (IANA) made a proposal to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in 2016, requiring the newly formulated international Internet standards to only support IPv6, it is no longer compatible with IPv4. According to statistics from authoritative organisations such as APNIC, deployment of IPv6 continues to increase steadily and with some gradual progress.
